His Holiness Benedict XVI elevate to cardinalate Most Reverend John P. Foley

During the ordinary audience on Wednesday, His Holiness Benedict XVI announced that he would elevate to cardinalate His Excellency Most Reverend John Foley during the Consistory which will be held on November 24.

His Excellency, who has recently been nominated "Pro-Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem", previously held the office of "President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications."

In the past years, the Knights of Columbus Foundation have had the honor of Monsignor Foley as Principal Celebrant during their traditional Christmas Mass in the Immaculate Conception Chapel held at the Pontifical North American College.
