| Rector’s Dinner 2008 April 3, 2008 Supreme Knight, Carl A. Anderson was invested with the prestigious "Rector’s Award" conferred during the annual Pontifical North American College Rector’s Dinner on April 3. This event, first proposed by His Excellency, Thomas Melady, former United States Ambassador to the Holy See, the Dinner was initiated in 1991 by Archbishop Edwin O’Brian, former Rector of the College. Through the years, the Rector’s Dinner has increasingly become more important, gathering friends and benefactors from Rome, the United States and all over the world to honor eminent figures for their dedication and service to the College. "This year we have the distinct privilege of honoring Supreme Knight and Mrs. Carl A. Anderson, along with the world’s largest and foremost Catholic fraternal service organization, the Knights of Columbus. Through their allegiance to the Church, including the funding of many important Vatican works, assistance with local parish development projects, and their timeless support of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. They truly exemplify the meaning of dedication and devotion to our Catholic faith." |
