 | “John Paul II: A passion for Peace” April 10 through October 1, 2003
Commemorating John Paul II’s 25th Anniversary as the Catholic Church’s 264th pope, this exhibition was prepared by the Vatican for an exclusive showing at the Knights of Columbus Museum. It identified the Holy Father as the “Statesman for all the Peoples of the World” as well as his on-going efforts to secure world peace and build bridges of mutual respect and understanding with other faiths. The pope has a unique place in history because of his roll in toppling Communism in the Soviet bloc. The story was told using multi-media slide projections of John Paul II’s interactions with world leaders, peoples of all faiths and children. A number of significant, three-dimensional items were loaned from the pope’s private collection. |
